A Dial Shaped by Guilloché Craftsmanship
At first glance, the dial of the Escale Minute Repeater appears visually complex. Yet after spending some time with the watch, it becomes clear that this apparent complexity is carefully balanced.
At the center sits a grey flammé guilloché surface crafted entirely by hand. Produced on a traditional rose-engine lathe, the wave-like pattern captures light from different angles, creating a constantly shifting visual texture.
Surrounding the dial is the retrograde minutes display. At the start of every hour, the minute hand snaps back to zero, adding a dynamic mechanical gesture to the composition.
The hours are indicated through a jump hour aperture positioned at six o’clock. Framed by polished rose gold and a slightly concave ring, the display effectively separates the hour disc from the intricate guilloché patterns surrounding it.

The Escale collection draws inspiration from Louis Vuitton’s origins as a maker of luxury travel trunks. Decorative elements throughout the case and lugs reference this heritage.
The brass bracket-like forms visible along the lugs echo the metal hardware used on the brand’s historic trunks. Meanwhile, the octagonal crown subtly references the rivets that once reinforced those iconic travel cases.
