Clase Azul continues its tradition of limited-edition decanters with the introduction of Spirit of Champions. Inspired by the atmosphere of global football, this release is not officially tied to the tournament, yet its timing, narrative, and collector-driven positioning make the connection unmistakable. Limited to 10,000 bottles, the edition combines the brand’s decorative ceramic decanter heritage with a premium joven tequila.

Clase Azul’s positioning has long extended beyond tequila production. With each limited release, the brand designs the bottle as a permanent object. That philosophy is clearly visible in the Spirit of Champions edition. The decanter is conceived as a sculptural piece meant to remain long after the liquid is gone.

A Ceramic Decanter Designed as an Object

The Spirit of Champions decanter features an ivory-toned handcrafted ceramic body. Gold lines flowing across the surface evoke motion and unity, while the central Clase Azul emblem anchors the composition. Malachite inlays elevate the piece beyond packaging, transforming the decanter into a decorative object.

This design language continues Clase Azul’s established approach to limited releases. The bottle is created to be displayed after consumption, positioning the product closer to a collectible artifact than a conventional spirits release.

A Joven Structure with French Oak Influence

Spirit of Champions is a joven tequila created by master distiller Viridiana Tinoco. At the core of the blend is tequila aged for 28 months in large French wooden vats made from fine-grain oak sourced from the Tronçais forest. Blanco tequila is then added to preserve freshness and balance.

This maturation method creates a slower interaction between wood and spirit compared to smaller barrels. As a result, oak influence remains controlled while aromatics develop gradually. The outcome is a more refined and balanced profile.

The nose opens with cooked agave, coconut, toasted wood, and vanilla. On the palate, walnut, almond, toasted coconut, and soft agave sweetness emerge. The structure reflects a joven profile where oak supports rather than dominates the spirit.

Limited Production and Collector Positioning

Only 10,000 bottles of Spirit of Champions will be produced. The $1,700 price point clearly places the release within the collector segment. This is positioned less as an everyday tequila and more as a limited decanter-driven edition.

The bottles will be available at Casa de los Leones in Mexico City, the Clase Azul Boutique in San José del Cabo, and select global retailers. This controlled distribution strategy reinforces the collectible nature of the release.

VOGGIA Perspective

Clase Azul’s Spirit of Champions reflects a growing trend within premium tequila: the collectible bottle as the experience itself. The decanter is no longer just a vessel but an integral part of the product’s identity.

The decision to use a joven structure reinforces that balance. It brings together maturation depth and fresh agave character within a single release. This creates a luxury object that works both technically and visually.

In that sense, Spirit of Champions functions as more than a tequila. It represents a moment, gains value through limited production, and remains as a design object long after consumption. With this release, Clase Azul continues to push the collectible culture within the luxury tequila segment.
